William "Billy" Joseph Pirc
June 22, 1961 – March 29, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of William "Billy" Joseph Pirc, who died on March 29, 2026, at the age of 64, at Amita St. Joe's Hospital in Joliet, after a brief battle with cancer.
Billy was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Joliet on June 22, 1961, to Raymond Joseph and Lois Jean Pirc. Everyone close to him growing up knew he was the fun and joking one in the family. As a young boy living in Plainfield, he participated in many sports: baseball, football as a running back, and excelled in wrestling. A couple of wrestling accomplishments were: 2nd Place finisher in the bi-state tournament in Bettendorf, Iowa, and as a senior in high school placed 1st at 145 lbs. in the 1979 District Tournament. Bill placed in multiple other tournaments throughout his wrestling years. Billy had a love for drawing and architecture with a talent for building. He could fix and build anything and was innovative and resourceful. He had a love for the outdoors from a young age that he carried with him his entire life. You could always find him working outdoors, doing everything to perfection. Bill was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 265. Billy lived his life on his own terms. His final day was spent with family and those important to him, free from remorse, which gave him much peace.
He is survived by his loving mother, Lois (nee Dernulc) Pirc; daughter, Kristin Rae (Matt) Cetta; granddaughters, Carsyn and Emersyn Cetta; siblings, Garry (Karen) Pirc, Juliann (Brian) Boudouris, and Karen (Chris) Borgstrom; nieces and nephews, Natalie (Garret) Schlotter, Lauren (John) Russo, Daniel Borgstrom, Abbie Borgstrom, and Julia Borgstrom, and great nephew, Milo Russo. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Joseph Pirc; his maternal grandparents, Rudolph and Jennie (Smolich) Dernulc; paternal grandparents, Anthony and Eleanor (Lanfranki) Pirc.
Bill will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Family and friends will gather for a graveside service for Bill to take place at a later date at the Plainfield Cemetery in Plainfield, IL. Arrangements entrusted to Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, 507 S. State St., Manhattan, IL 60442, 815-478-3321, www.forsythegouldfh.com.
