Obituary

William "Billy" S. Hough, age 53, passed away peacefully at his mother's home, while holding her hand and surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 2, 2021. Survived by his mother Nancy J. (nee Johnson) Hough and his father William R. (Patricia McHenry) Hough, his daughters Stephanie (Dale) Clark and Stephanie (Eric) Raef, four grandchildren Grayson, Jack, Penny and Parker, his brother Joseph (Michelle) Hough, his nephews Thomas and Matthew Hough, his niece MacKenzie Hough and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Thomas and Betty Ann Johnson and his paternal grandparents Richard and Nancy Hough. William was born in Fort Madison, Iowa. He was a graduate of Waukesha High School. He attended Kendal College, was graduate from Lake Forest College and was a member of the Galesburg Masons. Billy had many past times, he loved the outdoors especially fishing, cooking and traveling to name a few. He was a very social, kindhearted and generous man. Billy maintained friendships from all over the world and until the day he passed, he was still making friends. His humble embrace of his illness and his graceful acceptance of his final time here on Earth made an unforgettable impression on all who encountered him. Billy's family feels incredibly blessed to have been able to make unforgettable precious memories these past four months and are forever grateful for compassion and attention that his caregivers and hospice nurses had shown to Billy as well as his family. Billy was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and friend to many, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation for Billy will be on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will be the same day beginning with prayers at the funeral home at 12:30 P.M. in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 West North St, Manhattan for 1:00 P.M.
