William "Murph" L. Murphy, age 76, of Elwood, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox. He is survived by his children; Daniel (Marlene) Murphy, Rita (Steve) McGann Sr., and Paul (Julie) Murphy, his grandchildren, Matthew (Allison) Murphy, Kevin Murphy, Steve (Johanna) McGann Jr., Katie McGann, Lindsey (Cody) Hartley, Donald Murphy, his great grandchildren, Molly Murphy, Aurbrey and Makayla McGann, and Bradyn and Nevaeh Hartley, his brothers and sisters; Molly (Ray-Deceased) Glog, Dave (Marlene) Murphy, Kay (Ed) Buckman, Barb (Riley) Stover, Leo (Virginia) Murphy, and Joe (Donna) Murphy. Preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Murphy (nee McCabe), his parents, Leo and Kate Murphy, and his brothers and sisters, Bernard Murphy, Jean Gaffey, Pat Murphy, Noreen (Ken-deceased) Brandt, Gerald Murphy and George Murphy. Murph worked at Weber Dairy and Welsch Red-E-Mix for many years. He was also a member of Ingals Park A.C. Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from Forsythe Funeral Home to St. Joseph Church for 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3-7:00p.m. at the funeral home. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Manhattan. Memorials in William's name to American Diabetes Association would be most appreciated.
