William "Bill" Roberts, age 78, of Manhattan, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on December 15, 2021. Survived by his best friend and life partner Dr. Lee Cera, his children Joshua (Susan) Roberts, Rachel (Bryan) Gallagher, and Zachary (Monica) Roberts, his grandchildren Reid, Andrew and Chase Roberts, Grace and John Gallagher and Charles, Abigail and Eleanor Roberts, his brother Bernard J. (Mary Ann) Roberts and two faithful canine companions, Watson and DeeDee. Preceded in death by his parents William and Pauline Roberts, his sisters and brothers-in-law Wilma and Paul Kriner and Felicia and Albert Carretta and many canine companions. Bill was a graduate of Coraopolis High School in Pennsylvania, George Williams College with a bachelor's degree and The University of Chicago with a master's degree. Bill worked at The University of Chicago for a time and then served as Vice President of Operations at National-Louis University from which he retired. As a child, Bill was an active Boy Scout and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed reading, sailing and was a model train enthusiast. What brought Bill the most joy was spent with Lee raising their Siberian Huskies and volunteering at Stone City Kennel Club. A memorial visitation for Bill will take place on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 P.M.
