William A. "Buzz" Sparger, age 67, of Manhattan, IL passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at his home. Born July 14, 1949 in Harvey, IL to the late William A. and Betty Jane (nee Conrad) Sparger.
William was a retired self-employed truck driver and was also employed part time for the Village of Manhattan. He was a genuine man, with a big heart who loved and was loved by all.
Surviving are his former wife and dear friend, Vicki Sparger; one daughter, Brenda (Anthony) Podgorny; one sister, Luann Mann; and two grandchildren, Paige and Nick Podgorny, all of Manhattan.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and one daughter, Susan Sparger.
Funeral services will be at the Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan, Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation Sunday, September 25 from 2-6 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
