Wilmer "Dean" Norgaard, age 84, of Manhattan, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 14, 2018 with family at his side. He is survived by his loving wife of over 25 years, Joann Swartz Norgaard, his stepson Rich (Ruth) Swartz of Manhattan, his stepdaughter Sue (Bob) Newton of Manhattan; seven grandchildren Julie (Brian), Amanda, Pamela, Nicholas, Jack, Benjamin and Tara. Preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Marybeth Drumm, three brothers and one sister. Dean was born on September 18, 1933 in Blooming Prairie, MN. Dean served our country with the United States Navy. He owned several businesses including painting, construction general contracting. He enjoyed reading, fishing and NASCAR racing. Dean was a loving husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather who will be dearly missed. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home in Manhattan. Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. also at the funeral home. Interment Manhattan Center Cemetery, Manhattan, IL.
