Yrma L. Wonders (nee Montgomery), age 100 passed away peacefully on Sunday April 30, 2023.

Survived by her nieces and nephews, Dirk (Tammi) Taylor, Ray Montgomery, Tami (Alan) Booth, Loren (Catarina) Taylor, Tracy (Daniel) Amstutz, Bill Montgomery and Joni Montgomery; daughter-in-law, Barb Wuchte; dear friends, Jan Kreckle, Linda Corwell, Linda Dunivant and Donna Jean Chelios. Many other dear friends also survive.

Preceded in death by her children, Warren Wonders and Karren Wonders; her parents, Benjamin (Laura) Montgomery and all nine of her siblings.

Yrma was born on September 28, 1922, in Mount Dora, New Mexico. She was employed at the Manhattan Phone Company as a switch board operator for one year, United States Post Office for 9 years and the First Bank of Manhattan for 25 years. She was a long-time member of Manhattan United Methodist Church. Yrma was an avid bowler for over 30 years in Wilmington. She loved to be in her garden, and she loved to travel. Yrma loved to tell the story of her White-Water Rafting in her 70's. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral Service for Yrma will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 12:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, 507 S. State St., Manhattan. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until time of services. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, Tx with her parents.
